Welcome to the professional website of Jim Skaleski. He is an instrumental music educator, wind conductor, woodwind performer, and arts administrator based in southeast Wisconsin.
Mr. Skaleski has most recently accepted a position at DeForest Middle School in DeForest, Wisconsin beginning in the 2012-2013 school year. He is excited and humbled to be filling the shoes of Mark Sieger.
I am currently in the process of writing a beginning clarinetist warm-up method that addresses pedagogical issues I have witnessed relating to pinky key use, crossing the break smoothly, chromatic fingerings, resonance/tuning fingerings (b-flat, throat, and altissimo), and exploring the altissimo register in ways that typical band method books do not address sufficiently.
